So you may or may not have caught a new show called Prodigal Son on Fox (Mondays at 9:00 pm EST). If yes, keep watching. If no, check it out.
The show stars Tom Payne, who you may know from his role as Paul Rovia aka “Jesus” on The Walking Dead. I loved his TWD role, yet I feel it was sadly underdeveloped. Payne trained in the martial arts in order to offer realistic action scenes and put his heart into the character beginning in season six. I was sad to see his character go when he was killed off in season nine and was hoping a new series would come his way.
Well, it did in the form of Prodigal Son. Payne plays Malcolm Bright, a brilliant criminal psychologist who helps the NYPD solve murders. What makes his character particularly interesting is his wide array of neuroses that are ever changing, and the fact that his father is a serial killer eager to bond with him.
I love this character and I believe they had Payne in mind before he even auditioned. The show is intriguing and unpredictable. And if, like me, you can’t watch on Monday nights, you can catch it streaming on FOXNOW.
So have a peek at Prodigal Son, and let me know what you think…
